PETER CONNELL

Peter Connell is a consultant and Management Board member of the National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC) and the founder and owner of Peter Connell Associates (PCA). He advises on all matters pertaining to access and egress.

Through a practical approach, Peter takes into account such issues as the non-prescriptive intent of the Equality Act, conflicts with other regulations, strategies for access and egress, advice on practical designs and detailing of architecture and architectural finishes.

In addition to project and design specific work, Peter has also been integral to the formulation of guidance and standards in relation to the access field. This has included the following:

• Involvement in the latest editions to several British documents (including BS 8300 and Lifetime Homes);
• Writing of government policies in relation to accessibility (including the LDA’s Inclusive Design Toolkit and various documents for London Olympics 2012)
